My new Gallery: Maison des Artistes

My work is featured in a wonderful new gallery called Maison des Artistes. That's French for "house of artists." I am thrilled to have been invited to show with all of the talented artists. The gallery opens next Friday.

Today I was able to paint this lovely model at Studio 30. She wore a 1920s style hairdo and costume. Here's the result after 3 hours. It needs a little refining but I like the gesture.

Happy Friday!

Mark your Calendars!

We hung the show today! Reception, January 13th, 1-5 p.m., West Linn Public Library.
I'm honored to have eight paintings in this show with some very talented "women artists." Our paintings seem to fit right in in this literary environment. See the other painters at http://www.janeeyrepainters.blogspot.com/

Peace

I'm supposed to be picking out an image for a Christmas/holiday card but instead, I feel like sharing this image in hopes of brightening these dark days.

It was inspired by my good friend's lovely daughter, who was dancing in the rain at Kelly Point Park one spring. (I painted this a few weeks ago for the Big 300 show.) Peace.

Two Exciting Shows this Saturday

I've been workin' away like a busy, little painter-elf ... and this Saturday, I have my work in two shows with deals on affordable, original art in honor of the holiday season.  I do hope you will join me for one or both:

Here in St. Johns, Studio 30 at Cathedral Park Place

Downtown Portland, Peoples Art at Pioneer Place

Just a small sampling of what's for sale in the two shows:

An experimental abstract in the Big 300

Fun, little paintings in unique frames ... perfect for gifting

Plein air painting of Newport's Old Town bay

Would love to see you. Happy Holidays!

Downtown Minneapolis Skyline Redux

Using my old, smaller painting as a study for this painting. Photo's not-so-great. Will get a better one in the light before it goes off to its new home in Russia.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hooray! Fine Art Fridays are Back!

I'm so excited to be back with my super-talented, lovely friends at Studio 30. Friday night, we had a great model, Julie, who is also an artist. Here's what I painted (in progress):

The other painters called it "romantic." See what everyone else did at Studio 30 thoughout the day at Fine Art Friday: http://allaprimaportland.blogspot.com/2012/11/studio-30-friday-november-16-2012.html.  Sign up to follow my blog for updates on my work.

Have a fantastic week!
